Dyson Scholarships
The "Dyson Scholarship Challenge" was created by University Trustee and member of the Fraternity and Sorority Advisory Council John S. Dyson '65 (Alpha Delta Phi). Dyson structured the gifts with Cornell so that the stipends reduce work/study requirements permitting students to work fewer hours and devote time to fraternity and campus leadership positions. The Chapter Advisor assists Financial Aid in selecting the recipients.

In conjunction with the University Scholarship Campaign, the Dyson Challenge matched gifts toward the establishing of scholarships to recognize fraternity and sorority leadership. The scholarships are intended to relieve chapter leaders of portions of their financial aid work requirements and provide grants, thus enabling them to spend more time in their chapter activities.
